Fabulous band!
I interviewed DH back in the '80's - I travelled down to London with them on their tour bus from Birmingham to London, after seeing them play the NEC - they were amazing.
I always recall DH telling me about the press lies that he was dating Christie Brinkley after she broke up with Billy Joel - turns out he had never even met her, and he was on the road with Sara Allen (Sarah Smile) his partner of twelve years, so I think she might have noticed!!!

Ok - yes he is tall, and yes he is extremely well-mannered, and yes he has got long legs, and that time he had an enviable quiff as well!
He told me that five British tabloids had contacted his publicity agent in the UK to query the 'Christie' story, and were all advised that Daryl had never met her, and for the last six months, they hadn't even been on the same hemisphere - H & o were on tour in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and as I saw for myself, the lovely Sara Allen was indeed with him on the road .... but the papers printed the lie anyway!
Daryl was resigned to the way media works, knowing that if he sued for libel, they would fight for months, cost a fortune, and a retraction published on page 27, so he decided to simply ignore it.
They were both lovely guys, I have been a fan since the mid-seventies, when the Abandoned Luncheonette and 'Silver' albums were never off my deck.
Pure blue-eyed soul and a sterling example to the youngsters of today of how it should (but never is now!) be done.
