Following my previous post, I also have thicker bluey purpley veins visible under the skin on my legs. Varicose veins run in my family and my mum says this is what hers looked like in the begining. What can I do to help prevent them, apart from the not sitting or standing still for too long?

Wear support tights.I have always had standing jobs(catering) now I sit about a lot and haven`t any.
there is some type of herbal remedy that is supposed to help prevent varicose veinsthat you can get at Holland & Barrets. Can't remember the same but if you pop into one of their stores I'm sure they'll advise you.
They sound like varicose veins. I had mine done surgically two years ago (stripped out). I don't think the GP's consider referring you unless you are having any trouble with them, like itching or aching. I think standing too long without moving about much isn't too good.
