I have used Kaspersky for the last 5 years, for all my 3 computers, and have found it to be trouble free, until now. It has stopped updating. The update
page says ::::

"Updating databases and the the application (0%) and the status is connecting to server. Does anyone know why it is proceeding to update as usual ?

I have had occasional trouble like that. Unsure how I solved it. Probably a reboot I think. It has to be to do with the communication to the server. Maybe they are exceptionally busy, or something ? Your Internet connection is good and fast still I take it ?

I have no idea what any of it means or if it's out of date but may help !

Thanks Orderlimit !
Worst comes to worst their customer support is ok. They are happy to get a newest version to you.

I have tried re-booting but it didn't work. Now it is not launching on start up, and I can't even bring the program up from All Programs !

Where is Hans when I need him !
Doing dishes.

Well there's always the delete & reinstall option.

OG...my subscription of Kaspersky automatically renews every April. If I uninstall, and then reinstall, will it know that I have already paid for my 2015-2016 subscription ?

Thanks for your help on this by the way !
It sounds like I'm saying Kaspersky has given my al sorts problems but the reality I've used it for years and had just a couple of issues during that time. I suspect your best option is to contact them first for an opinion, but when I've re-installed as best I recall I had no issues. Contacting them may well encourage them to update you to their latest all singing all dancing version. It allows them to be more familiar with the latest logs you upload and spot anything that needs setting.

Thanks everybody ! I am out working quite long hours today and tomorrow, so I am going to leave this until Friday morning to resolve. I can't even launch K now, at all !

So I had better use my back-up Notebook until then.

Once again, thanks !

I have sent off an email to K, asking for advice...fingers crossed !
you pay for it????
In my case I started paying for it when a free one let a nasty through despite my care & attention; and I was desperate to get it all fixed and working fast. The customer service is worth a small fee for anyway.
Any joy ?

I have just had a reply from Kaspersky, a very polite and helpful one at that. They have told me that my 2012 edition is now outdated and no longer supported. Seems logical, although why it wasn't "outdated" in 2013 and 2014, and in April this year, when I renewed my subscription is beyond me.

They have sent me detailed instruction on how to uninstall my 2012 edition and reinstall the 2015 one.

But if they had sent me an email, or incorporated a proper error message when I tried to update the databases 2 days ago, I wouldn't have had to put a request in for help. They must have millions of people like me that bought the product in 2012, have been renewing my subscription every year, but found themselves in this problem when the system automatically tried to update a few days ago.

They have been very prompt and helpful with advice but they could have saved themselves no end of bother if they had notified me in the first place. Doesn't seem to me to be the right way to run a business !
Hi, I seem to have had the exact same problem as you and I'm desperate to solve it! Is there any way to send me the instructions that you received from the Kaspersky support team? Mine seems to have started when yours did too! Thank you so much, Belle
