I have a DVD disc cleaner - you spray this cleaning liquid onto the disc and then you place the dvd into this thing which spins and wipes the disc. I realised that the spray smells exactly the same as TFT/LCD screen cleaning liquid. as the DVD cleaning liquid is nearly finished, could I use the TFT/LCD cleaning liquid to clean the dvd's??

You could use a weak mixture of white vinegar and water to clean both, save yourself a fortune, and bin any kind of machine that spins a disk to clean it. The best way to clean a DVD or CD is to wipe gently outwards from the centre.
Yes - the all use isopropyl alcohol solutions, as do tape cleaners etc - all the same stuff
