Anyone had Mars bar in batter
I had barbecued Coyote when I visited the Grand Canyon and surrounding area.
Shark...... Dolfin......octopus...... Well I guess almost everything under the sea since I live on a island and sez food is very popular.. we also eat ALOT of shushi here.. and most is raw.. we eat eggs from everthing and all the insides and outs... we eat fry leafs off trees and put pretty sweet and bitter flowers in our salads... I guess the strangest out of all for me was pig feet.. I didnt like that very much... and I never did it again.. EW!! I think it was a mean joke from the cook.. I swear lol
Who are you people!!! Why, why, why would you want to eat all this stuff! Whats wrong with a good old Roast Dinner, or Fish and Chips!! lol!
Doner Kebab
i feel sick..........................urghhhhh

ha ha oh my gosh you guys...woooooo! shazbang croc tastes like cross between chicken and fish, and is slightly rubbery..lol :-)
Somerfield sells tinned octopus chunks. I had to try it (being so different from the norm) ate it straight from the tin, a bit chewey but tastes of absolutely nothing.

Shazbang - Crocodile tastes like fish but has the consistency of chicken.

Ive also had wild boar, kangaroo, ostrich, shark, Im going to Thailand and Asia in a few weeks though- going veggy just in case I dont want to eat dog or cat or something v dodgy !!!

  • pig's ear in Barcelona

  • alligator in a Tex-Mex restaurant in New Jersey (consistency: see pig's ear)

  • zebra, springbok and various other African quadrupeds in the form of biltong (excellent stuff)

  • ostrich in many shapes and forms - you used to be able to get it at my local supermarket here in Germany at the height of the BSE scare

  • sheep's testicles (by mistake) in a Turkish mixed grill

  • but probably most frighteningly: a full English breakfast in a UK hotel (just returned from a short trip there - I really don't want to know what they put in those sausages.)

Selfridge's in Birmingham do a great range called "Edible" of weird things. I once had a chocolate-covered scorpion. Yum!

They also have something called "Weasel Coffee", which is made from coffee beans eaten by a certain type of weasel in Madagascar. The animals can't digest them and they're pooped out whole, and then ground down by locals into coffee! Apparently it tastes like chocolate, but I don't even want to go there...

And by the way? Who eats dolphin? CRUEL SWINE!

I have an ostrich burger every year at the Lincoln Christmas market - nice. But I think the most bizarre thing I have encountered is a SNAIL PIZZA. Snails, yes, pizza, yes, but together?!

Alijangra - have heard about that gannet before - didn't G Ramsey try it in his last series before Christmas? said it was disgusting, but then again it didn't look too appetising!!

Fried rabbit droppings in batter, in Sardinia. Very nice, until they told me what it was.
There is a restaurant in South Africa that does everything you could possibly think of (within animal cruelty regulations). My husband had the mopane worms. There was a neon green sauce with it. I think I lost my appetite and had to go sit somewhere else. You know - Boys will be boys and when there's a bunch of them with alcohol, the macho meter knows no limits.
On an extended trip to Uganda some years ago I had hippopotamus and colobus monkey on the same menu. The hippo tasted similar to pork and the monkey to chicken in the same way frog's legs do. The most unpalatable dish I can recall was in the famous Mr. Fatties in Singapore when during an otherwise memorable banquet we were served with duck's feet. They tasted, well, like you would imagine duck's feet to taste, all gristle and skin. If you are ever offered wichity grubs in Australia snatch their hands off, they are delicious and not unlike roasted chestnuts.
A KFC 'Bucket'....not really sure what was in it; a greasy dead animal of some description.

Snakes blood+heart, vietnam
Dog Burger , china (almost spewed on that one, cruel G**S)
deep fried spicy locusts, mexico
kangeroo, oz (loved it)
ostrich + croc (dito)
and others...
