Sometimes i have the misfortune to catch the end of this while im waiting for the far superior simon Mayo. Anyway, when the traffic is being read out, often midsentence or sometimes mid-word a bell noise will go off on the travel. why? I doesn't happen in any other show i listen to on radio 2

I can't see the answer in either of your links, guys.
From my link:
"Talking of traffic - ENOUGH please with the unfunny, irritating and pointless 'ding' noise that Wright plays every time the words 'knock on effect' are read out."
In mines, the second post said,
' Wish they would stop that bloody pinging in the traffic reports whenever they say knock-on effect! So annoying and childish! A bit like Steve Wright and his pathetic singing!'

'
Sorry, folks. Found it now.
Several times when the radio is on in the car I've heard this noise during the traffic report and thought it was a warning light coming up on my dashboard! Only happens on the Steve Wright show, though no idea why. He's still smug and annoying, still rarely says who the artists are when the record ends - his producer (or someone) should have a word.
