I've bought some jerk seasoning powder and I think I'd like to have it with halomi
Perhaps I could add some to a few drops of oil and coat the cheese before grilling
I've given up meat for lent so I can't use it in any meat recipe
Any advice
I think it would a nice bit of zing to the halloumi, particularly if you give it a squeeze of lime or lemon juice once cooked. Mixing some jerk seasoning with butter and then smothering on corn on the cob and again finishing with a squeeze of citrus and a sprinkling of fresh coriander, parsley or chives would be good. Sweet potatoes would go well with jerk...
Even though I love Jerk Seasoning with meat or vegetables, I'm not too keen on the idea of having it with my cheese on toast(presume you're having toast?)
However, I can strongly recommend sprinkling a few drops of Worcester Sauce onto your cheese before grilling... Scrumptious!
My only advice is based on experiences. The first time we used jerk seasoning it was so hot the whole meal was inedible. This Xmas we brought some mild jerk paste back from the Caribbean and even half a teaspoon on chicken pieces blew our heads off! Use very sparingly.

Sweet potatoes would go well with jerk seasoning so how about some sweet potatoe oven chips seasoned with jerk spices?
