Click 'Browse'.
Navigate to the location of your image file and double-click on it.
Click 'Upload Now'
Complete the security 'captcha' thingy.
When you see your picture on your screen, click on the last of the 4 links offered to you. That will highlight it. Then right-click and select 'Copy'
Come to this thread and, where you want the link to your picture to appear with your post, right-click and select 'Paste'.
Click 'Submit' as usual. When your post is shown your link will have gone red (so that we can then click on it & see the picture).

I just tried putting my photos into Windows Media, and that wasn't right.

Make sure the link appears on a line by itself, like in Baldric's post, above.
Press the return key after you paste, that should do.

I can't know for sure but I'm convinced this is why some people's YouTube link attempts go wrong.
