I was recently helped by a member of staff in a car park to such a degree that I feel it appropriate to write a letter to the company asking them to acknowledge this man's goodwill and his going beyond the call of duty.

He told me his name but I have forgotten it, but I can remember him spelling it out T H A ? A. I cant remember the ? letter! Ive gone through all realistic consonants but can't tell what it was.

Anyone know of a name spelt like this? He did not appear of european descent if that helps.

Thana...ie with an 'n' as suggested by Feebal above...is a name in Arabic. It means 'praise' in that language. Perhaps it is used by Muslims of whatever nationality.
could you get in touch with the owner of the car park, explain what you're after and ask for the man's name?
Thana', Thanaa' - Meaning 'thankfulness, commendation, praise'
Thara', Tharaa' - meaning 'wealth'

Are feminine arabic names.
Perhaps it was Thama ?
I'm sure if you included in the letter the date and time of when the man helped you and the partial spelling of his name, the company would be able to work out who the mystery man is! It is so nice to hear of somebody writing in to commend someones service - people are far too quick to complain but not so quick to give praise!
