My landline phone has had a fault since Thursday.
Reported it Friday 10am - the automated voice asked me for my mobile number - then they texted me to say doing tests and would keep me updated.
Nothing more since!
I am 91, living alone and depend on my phone - my old basic mobile is pay-as-you-go and too expensive for all but essential calls.

is it possible to actually TALK to a human being at TT - I need them to call me.
Please help

talk talk customer service 0870 444 1820
From Thursday noon last I lost telephone, broadband and internet. It took ages to convince my service provider that the fault was OUTSIDE the house - between the exchange and my property. They said there was nothing wrong with their service and EVENTUALLY they organised an Outreach engineer to call. I was finally reconnected at noon yesterday (Saturday). Having no outside line I had to use my mobile phone - and it cost me a flipping bomb talking to them for between 4 and 5 hours.

Hi murraymints
Tried the number you gave me - the usual automated voice - was going nowhere and gave up!
Almost immediately, I received call on my mobile and was, at last, able to talk to young lady.
Lots of guff about tests being done and would update me within 72 hours!
Played merry hell (sorry) and stressed my need for quick cure - she said in view of my need for phone for medical reasons, engineer would attend tomorrow.
Gave me her direct phone number 0800 444 1870
So, dear murray, thanks for your support in my "hour of need " - very much appreciated.
Now just a matter of keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi slogger,
have made some progress - but TT really are inaccessible
See my reply to murraymints
Thanks for your interested
jack that is good news....how is your treatment going ?
Question Author
Hallo again, murraymints,
Treatment starts Wednesday 2.30 - will let you know progress.
The daily visits mean I will miss my weekly short-mat bowls sessions for a while, We are a bonny lot of bowlers but the companionship is great.
Cheers
hopefully you will be back bowling before end of season..dad was a keen bowler but had to give up due to bad knees ..got two new knees now but arthiritis in hands is bad....anyway he still goes along to watch when the weather is good, a nice wee club house for a sneaky pint. As you say the company is good, nothing like a pint a puff on his pipe and and a natter... hope you don'tt get too washed out with the treatment...remember to let us all know how you are..I will be thinking of you xx..

Evening murraymints and slogger
Sorry - the number given me this morning was 0870 - not 0800
Thought I would ring now and ask if they could divert calls to my mobile - guess what - "the number you have dialled is currently unavailable"
Roll on tomorrow
Jack give 0844 800 3124 a try.

Oh gawd, I honestly don't know what else to suggest, Jack. Best of luck, mate.
I have found another number, Jack. Don't know if you've tried it yet, anyhow it's 0203 441 5550.
Question Author
Tonyav - thanks for yet another number - same result.
Must call it a day now and have a wee dram to soothe the shattered nerves.
Goodnight all and my very grateful thanks.
night night Jack xxx
G'night, Jack.
