Due to my fridge/freezer dying on me I have been cooking the defrosted meat that I had, all day long, and now I feel so pleased with myself :). The fridge is full of prepared meals, I just hope it doesn't give up completely before delivery day on Tuesday and all go bad. The thermometer says 28 F. Should be ok, don't you think ?

28F is below 0 C (freezing point)- is that right?

That's what is says on the thermometer but I don't really believe it . It's the freezer that is packed up though really. All the peas, chips and so on are soft. It is 16 years old, I shall be sad to see it go. How can I get nostalgic about a machine !

Or is it about times gone by ?
Freezer temperature should be -18,or below.
If you have cooked everything today and you get your replacement freezer on Tuesday and you freeze everything on Tuesday nothing will be lost. Plus in freezing all the bugs will be zapped.
I got sentimental when my dishwasher packed up, it used to belong to my mum and I reckon she'd bought it in around 1987. It had done good service. I'm still using her little tabletop freezer (fingers crossed!)
