Hi Loosehead! Are you making those sarnies yet!!

Personally, the last thing I want is for us to be 'Americanised'. Just imagine that awful false 'Have a nice day' every time we shop.

Anyway, 'Have a Nice Day' Loosehead. And I mean it!

:o)

Loosehead, I don't know where you live so can't comment but most of our checkout operators here in the rural sticks are great, go out of the way to help and mostly have a smile on their faces through thick and thin. Perhaps that 'cos we still have time for people and are well away from the horrible rat race. I am so glad I left the big city years ago before I got 'old and crumbly'!

Just off to Morrisons to enjoy myself annoying everybody - It's lunchtime!!!! (however, I would point out that I work).

I visit England every year and I find all shop staff extremely kind and helpful, I have never found any to be discourtious(!) rude or unhelpful. Believe me that's the type we get on this island.
Like I said gessoo, you take this far too seriously, anyway, you're not a checkout girl so whats your beef?? . And, a bit selective aren't you? If 'lumps of checkout ops like zombies on mogadon, etc' as posted by loosehead doesn't offend your sensitive nature, why should mine. Make your mind up dear.

Carol Anne - How dogmatic can you be? (If you don't know what it means - look it up) Why can't you concede that the decent hard working checkout operators out-number the bad?

Like I said Jude, it was written tongue in cheek. I can assure you Im not so sad that I have to come on here to to insult people. I'ts a bit of banter for goodness sake . See it for what it is and give as good as you get by all means, but dont take it so personally. People express all sorts of opinions on this site, nice and nasty, and my own profession, underpaid and unappreciated, as it is comes in for a lot of knocks too, but I don't go getting my knickers in a twist about it like you two. And again, like I said, I'm not the only one to have made such disparaging remarks am I? So get off your high horse and stop whinging.

I think Carol Anne if you re read your posts I think you will find you're the whinger. And this is definitely my last post on what has now become a boring thread....

Flip-flop, I dont know how old you are but I am in my forties and still have old fashioed respect for the older peson, sadly lacking in the UK today but one day you will definitely be one of those older people and believe me the younger generation that you are training will one day treat you worse than the older generation of today, because you trained them in intolerance of the old. what goes around comes around!
How about people who stand in your personal "space" when you are doing your Chip n Pin thing. How rude is that? I never pass the checkout operator until the person before me is gone. Is it just me?
I would just like to say that some of us need a cheque book come 3 - 4 days before you get paid and you have no money whatsoever, no savings/credit cards etc. A cheque has been a lifeline for myself in the past.
