Thanks, I just uninstalled Google Chrome "The affected browser" and switched to Firefox, that appears to be ok.

Rojash, please enlighten me.
Firefox started out as a lightweight customisable browser which offered better performance than IE. Over the years it has steadily morphed into a piece of bloatware with frequent updates that often break your existing add-ons, and a lower performance than the lates IE versions.

Chrome is still an efficient and reasonably lightweight browser which is occasionally and unobtrusively updated.

To replace Chrome with FF just because you have installed a trojan makes no sense.

There are instructions for removing delta-search here: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/delta-toolbar-virus/

Thanks Rojash, all sorted.
Chrome updates just as often as firefox - in the last 12 months Chrome has gone from version 18 to 28, Firefox from 11 to 19; at least Firefox lets you know in advance. And I don't have problems with add-ons breaking.

And then there's letting Google have control of your browsing...

Eh?
Use AdwCleaner mate. Works like a charm.

For manual removal I recommend this:

Removal instructions @Malwaretips are good too, BUT save all your bookmarks first; otherwise you will lose everything. They forgot to mention this.

Hey, unfortunately this is one of those hijacking browser extensions that take over a lot of other stuff. You can remove it with some tools like Adwcleaner, Hitman Pro, Malware Bytes, Spyhunter etc. If you want to remove it manually, you can follow this guide: http://www.pccaretips.com/blog/how-to-get-rid-of-delta-search-delta-search-com-virus.html Good luck
