I am at a stalemate in my work. I know I am not working in the job that I was destined for (like many people!) but have the determination to do something about it. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do!! Is there any website that is designed in such a way that you can answer certain questions in order to find a job or career that you would be most suited to?

Le Chat, I am in exactly the same position! The only websites I could find like that were really aimed at school leavers etc. I found something that I now know I really really want to do (but failed the interview :( ) by looking on websites like monster and just selecting whole industries to see what jobs come up. I sell cars and ended up in Birmingham (live in Hampshire) in a selection test to be an air traXffic controller! Good luck.

I would recommend looking at your personality through systems like Myers Briggs, which identify areas you have a preference for (note, it isn't about competence in that area). A search on Amazon for Myers Briggs and career change brings up a number of books that sound good. 'Do what you are' was once recommended to me, although I confess I haven't quite got round to reading it (see www.personalitytype.com)! I know this isn't for everyone, but I have found such tests useful to delve more deeply into what I like to do and what is actually important to me.

www.peoplemaps.co.uk have a service where you fill in a form and it tells you a bit about yourself, pay for more information.

http://jobsearch.about.com/od/personalitytests/ this looks like quite a good site in terms of career changes, with lots of links to various things, not just personality tests.

Well done for having the determination (and guts!) to do something about it, just make sure you take the time to make an informed decision on where to go next! Good luck!
