No, quite often the cover can be damaged, ripped, torn or unreadable. The inside however can be full of depth and warmth and goodness. I used to judge....must have grown up !

No. Especially if it's a new Terry Pratchett. I've got all his and read them time and again, and they still make me laugh. I'm into his new one, on kindle, a lot cheaper.
I hope nobody judges me by MY cover. I'm a tattered old paperback on the outside, definitely well past my due back at the Library date. BUT, on the inside, I'm still a pristine lovely first edition !! Yeah, I wish.
