Been to The Good Food Show in Birmingham today. Really good day, bought loads of goodies. Three different liqueurs, sloe gin, lots of salmon both smoked and fillets. Six different cheeses, crab, fudge and a drink made fro cucumber that will go great with my g & t. There was also a stall that had the most wonderful things made from chocolate. I bought 5 black and white Dalmatian dogs for Gkids. They are adorable little thing about 3 inches high. The stuff they had was unbelievable. Mice, false teeth, skulls, lipsticks, a coffin with a skeleton in it. Cameras, a whole range of tools, ie. Saws, pliers, hammers etc. they were so intricate all made from white and dark chocolate.
Had loads of samples, so many that I didn't need to buy anything to eat.
All in all a super day. Still three days to go so if you can head for Birmingham!

This is my Christmas treat to me. I save up in a little bunce account, by saving pound coins, lottery winnings ( if ever) and premium bond winnings all year for it. That way I don't notice it the same as just spending out of current account.
Sounds a brilliant day and well worth the aching feet Caran.

Maydup it wasn't as busy as Sunday which is the day we used to go. Also quite a few of regular stalls not there now as stall prices have gone up astronomically. We were told by one smallholder some of them struggle to make a profit now.

And aching back and hips Mamya.
A medicinal tipple and a lie in will help then,;-)

One thing we did miss was on the Sunday they have a big cheese exhibition with cheeses from around the world. When it is over at 4.00 pm they sell them off. You buy a bag for £10 and can fill it with as many cheeses as you want. And of course cheese freezes well so a real bargain.

Definitely Mamya. Though we did have disasters today. Daughter and I both have shopping trolleys ( mine is equipped with a fold down seat) the wheel came off mine after half an hour. Fixed it, lasted ten minutes, did this three times. Took trolley back to car. Just used daughters after that. She went back to the car three times to off load. In the last hour a wheel came off hers too. Fixed it four times, but managed to limp back to car with last load. SIL is going to have a go at fixing them both.
