Can you tell me something about Lesley Duncan - I know she released some albums in the 70s - one was called Mother Earth. Is there anywhere I can get copies of the others?

Lesley Duncan was best known as a prolific session singer, until Elton John covered her 'Love Song' on his 'Tumbleweed Connection' album. The intrerest gained Leslie an album deal with CBS, and she released 'Sing Children Sing' in 1971, on CBS in America, and the Edsel label in the UK. In 1972 she released the 'Earth Mother' album with identical distribution. By 1974, interest had cooled, but Leslie signed with GM Records in the UK and released 'Everything Changes', followed by 'Moonbathing' on MCA in 1975. Lesley's last album was 'Maybe It's Lost' released in 1977, again on GM Records. CD releases of Leslie's albums began a couple of years ago - the first two albums are out, usual dealers will assist. Apparently the master tapes for the remaining albums perished in a fire, but copies have been found, and hopefully CD releases of those will follow. Since 1977, Lesley appears to have returned to her previous low profile, although interest in her back catalogue may prompt a return to recording and live work in the future.
