I am desperately searching for a loop end clock spring 96"long x 1/2" wide x 0.018" in order to build a completely wooden clock. USA seems to be the only place to find them

Think metric! According to my calculator, that's 2438mm long, 12.7mm wide and 0.46mm in thickness, just like this one: http://www.medmaw.com/cgi-bin/medmaw/medmaw.cgi?keywords=2012+462415&mall_name=muk&search_request_button=Go!&store=parts&page=./html/change_store.html

Yes, you'd only find the one you mention in the US...that's the only place that still uses inches!
Hadn't realised one could get wooden springs. Maybe you could get one custom made from a local carpenter ?
stewey will know ..when he comes here 1
Take a look here, rolotoz: I deal with them quite a lot. You can email them with your exact specifications. What type of clock are you working on? http://www.perrinwatchparts.com/cat_name/loop_end_clock_mainspring.aspx
I just emailed them for you as I know the guys on the order desk and should get a faster response.
The closest they can come to what you want is part #CP-M1200L: 2400mmx12.99mmx0.45mm. Cost is $15.80CAN (8.85GBP); shipping methods and cost to be offered at check-out. Hope this helps.
I hope rolo comes back.
He's probably out scouring the Black Forest searching for suitable material for his clock:) Actually, making wooden clocks is a hobby for quite a few people.
