My current notion is tinned plum tomatoes (not chopped) seasoned with sea salt and white pepper. Bought two trays of tins from Lidl at the weekend, lush on a bit of toast, lush made into a veg chilli, lush on their own

It's become a standing joke in the family, I find a food I love and I do it to the 'death'.

Chicken (thighs) sprinkled with parmesan was a previous one....just an example.

I relish the foods I dote on :)

Anyone else find a 'taste' they just can't get enough of?

Everything on the Lurpak ad as soon as I see it!

I love tinned tomatoes with sugar :-)

I love scallops, I would eat them everyday if I could. Scallops, rockets and a finely chopped salad of toms, cucumber and red onion, served with balsamic.
Are you pregnant, KM? ;-)

I have to admit that I do go through some 'food phases' though. I seem to be consuming rather a lot of canned haggis lately and it's previously been one which I keep coming back to, with half a can of chicken in white sauce plus some milk and blue cheese melted into it, served on pasta or with a jacket spud.
I can make a meal of tinned tomatoes too.

I am so with you on the Lurpak (my cholesterol isn't though)..my husband was sick of Pro Activ so he rebelled big style ! 500g Salted Lurpak was lashed in the fridge !
I have imbibed...a little bit ;)
I can't stand tomatoes!

If I was genuinely starving I'd still really struggle to be able to eat tinned tomatoes without throwing up. (That doesn't mean that I don't buy them though; I can happily throw them into Italian-style pasta dishes but I simply can't eat tomatoes in any recognisable form, whether cooked or raw).

Sorry i'm slow :)

Yaaah for the tinned tomatoes :) !!

Chris i'm not pregnant...just blooming starving :)
I'm intriqued with your concoction, bet it's brilliant.Loving the mishmash, that's what's it's all about !

ummmm...I normally add sugar to 'deaden' the acidity but the copious amounts of white pepper does the trick :)
Scallops...yummy...I love seafood.Don't do this to me ;)

Mamya...tinned toms are a necessity. Bet you can work wonders on them :)
Nice with a good splash of chilli sauce and Worcestershire.
Ox liver. The cheapest of offal and, if fried correctly, more tasty and tender than the best fillet steak at over 10 times the price.

Chris...I currently have a huge bowl of every conceivable tomato available at the moment, I can't pass the bowl without wolfing some....but I have to say I think they need aided so on that note I have a bowl next to them with salt and pepper so I just dip and go ;)
I'm off to go and dip...night ;)

Ooooo more tasty notions, i'll be back :) Keep them coming x
I'm the same of Buenchico. Can't stand tomatoes, tinned or fresh, cooked or raw but love tomato based dishes such as bolognese.
Also love tomato ketchup.
Love chocolate, hate chocolate ice cream.

I am on a black pudding binge at the moment.
hc...did you know that traditional bolognese doesn't actually have tinned tomatoes in it, just tomato puree?
Does anyone else love Vesta dishes?

Yes, I know that they're basically c.r.a.p but I still regard the Chow Mein, Paella and (best of all) Beef Risotto as 'luxurious' comfort foods ;-)
(Only the Beef Curry is rubbish).

I've never found this one though!

No, chris, Nooooooooooooo :-)
i have cravings all the time, usually when people start talking about them

not so keen on tinned or cooked toms though, love them fresh & can eat tom puree or passata but not otherwise. a dinner lady forced me to eat plum toms when i was a child, something she regretted when i presented her with them.

i'm having a cured meats & cheese phase at the mo, well i say at the mo, its been going on for a while....
I found a Delia recipe for leek and potato soup. Leeks are rock bottom at the moment, so we have that a couple of times a week with some crusty tiger bread. A really tasty soup.

Love tinned toms with a good fry-up
