I wondered if any ABbers have bumped into any former character from Grange Hill? If so, was it weird and how was it?

Must be weird if you met them at work 20 years down the line. My fave characters were Georgina Hayes and Gonch. I wonder where they are now??

I haven't no, but yeah I do remember all the faves.....i often think that Ian beals kid in eastenders is like a mini me version of Zammo.....to answer part of your questions there was a couple of TV shows that featured what they are doing now, think Ro-land is a DJ and Zammo is a boxing trainer or something.

Zammo has got key cutting business near Covent Garden. You can bump in to every day if you liked (not when he is doing a particularly tricky Yale though!)
I went to University with Gonch. My husband met Jonathan Lambert who is a journalist now, he played Danny (the small troubled teenager who painted murals I think).

What was Gonch like? What Uni was it?
It was University of East Anglia in Norwich. A very normal guy really. Quite active with student union stuff but otherwise just blended in and no-one really made a big deal of it, although it was well known who he was and he did play up to it sometimes when campaigning for student union stuff.
I was actually Jonathan Lambeth's (Danny Kendall) boss for a while. He was a nice guy who played down his GH experience. He now works for AOL.
I saw Zammo when he worked in the key-cutting shop just off Wardour Street ( that's in London for those of you outside the city ).
zammo's key cutting place is actually in Carshalton Surrey, up the road from me.
I met the girl who played the disabled girl not long ago..during an advert filming. she had celebral palsy, she was lovely.
Billi did Gonch bring his briefcase along to lectures?

...I met Ziggy Greaves (who was also little Jimmy Corkhill in Brookside) ..he was on holiday in the village where I live, he was kinda sweet and a typical cheeky scouser ...

..I also bumped into Tucker Jenkins, he was selling fruit and veg on a market stall in the eastend of London, then he became a policeman..... :o)
