hi guys,

i have just bought a vespa pk50 and have been told that the rear brake light only lights up with the rear brake and not with the fron one... is this correct?

You have been told right but it's easy enough to check!


Have a look at the linkage between the rear brake pedal and the rear brake, somewhere between the two there will be an electrical switch connected to the linkage, if it is'nt there then the rear brake light will not come on.


All modern scooters and m/bikes front and rear brakes now light up the stop lights.

Yes mate, had one of those, got a PX now, it is correct, as on the PK model, there was no front brake sensor! Anything else I can help you with, let me know.

does anyone know where i can download an owners manual for my vespa pk 50 from 1987.



i managed to find a service manual but not the owners one. Basically i need proof for my MOT in Luxemborg that the front brake does not light up behind when you use it.



i have tried google but not a lot out there...
