Italian clothes sizes - same as UK?

I found a tshirt on ebay that I really like, only the seller is in Italy. There isn't a size guide on there and I don't want to email them, but it does say 'Media' which I guess means 'Medium'. Are Italian chest sizes the same as UK sizes? I'm a 38-40" chest which is generally considered medium here, but is it the same in Italy, or different?

Hi there, this may not help much but regular Euro/UK sizes differ ie. your UK 38-40 would be a Euro 48-50. Why not just email the seller for the actual measurements of the tshirt?
