peugeot 406 6cd system

good afternoon peeps.
i got a 6cd system in me car. the other week after giving the car a good wash, the system managed to get a small amount of water in it. i removed it from the car and allowed it to dry on a radiator in the kitchen. it was placed on a pile of kitchen roll to prevent it overheating, and left for 3 whole days and nights. the unit was dry internaly and externaly when i checked it.
i plugged the baby in and hey presto, IT WONT WORK... (have given the laser a clean with a liquid lense cleaner)
any thoughts or ideas appreciated.
