I've rather stupidly trodden on a side panel of a self assembly sideboard and left a size 8 hole in it. I've tried to get a replacement panel but the item is sold out so I've bought some sticky backed vinyl to cover the damage but am wondering whether I should pack the hole out as well? TIA

I guess so, Bedders, but it's never going to look very good whatever you do.

I assume it's a chipboard panel with either a thin laminate or an artificial "grain" stuck on it. Have a look at some kitchens. You may well be able to duplicate the panel from another source.
Depends on what you're happy with. Replacement is best. Or just site it in the room corner. Or stick a patch bit on the inside and then work out what cosmetic work is needed on the outside.

Thanks for those suggestions - a replacement would be great as the holes would be in the right places for assembly but I'll see how it looks with the vinyl stuck on. Luckily the side is pretty much out of sight so hopefully my mom will forgive my clumsiness eventually.
Contact the place where you bought it, ask the for the Manufacture's Address or tel No, Ebay under Used Kitchen Cabinets Etc.
