I have mock wood formica covered cupboards in my kitchen. Has anyone had any success painting formica - if so, what type of paint did you use?

I used te International brand (available at a lot of places) melamine paint. They had a lot of colours and it was very good. I have also used the Ronseal brnad but it was pants!

My brother in law swears by a product called ESP and he is a diy nut.

Thanks Oneeyedvic. If you read this could I ask what, if any, sort of surface preparation is needed.

With the International stuff - nothing - just paint it on (use a mini roller for best effect)
ESP isnt a paint. It stands for Easy Surface Preparation. It is a clear liquid that you put on a surface with a cloth. It is an excellent product that gives you a base for the paint to adhere to.
