26d the tide I think is neaping (neap tide).

Hello pega, thanks for that, although I now think 26d is NEARING, can't find the moth and would appreciate your help! Have you a view on the 2d spelling

Hi I did think of nearing But it says a Particular Tide hence Neap is a tide.

The two spellings for 2d Metricise or Metricize as I said yesterday I'm going for Metricise.

The Moth wasn't easy went through dictionaries not in I looked in a crossword book and with letters I had came up with Notodonta. checked 4 dictionaries not there, put it into Google and confirmed South American Moth and fits in as you say a few tough nuts this week but got it done usually don't start it until mid-week but raining , have just started on garden late this year setting out veg, too wet to dig. anyway hope this helps Good Luck. K.

Thanks for your help pega. I believe you are right on all three counts. I eventually found notodonta in disguise! This weeks is the most difficult for some time but anyway helps to exercise the 'brain cells', whatever these are. I haven't even thought about the garden yet! Regards A
