I was sat on Blackpool Prom this evening when this chap sat beside me, after a couple of minutes his phone rang he muttered will they not let me retire. He then got in conversation with the person on the phone, saying you know I have finished, but the person was insistant and wanted to give him a name and number he said it is no good I do not have a pen or paper to write it all down. So me being a good citizen ( and nosey) offered him a pen and paper, so he wrote the number down. He then rang the lady and he said I am the elusive Phillip Carter I guess you want me to do some more Ultimate IQ Test material he said I have retired but I may have some stuff at home, I will get back to you he then gave me back the pen and we chatted for a while a really nice man he was like me just having a Monday to Friday break. It was not untill I got back to Hotel and googled this man that I realised the amount of stuff he has done. Anyone know where he comes from is he a Lancashire man he spoke fondly of Blackpool.

You are right there one of the old school, I was going to say a rum un, there was a load of old photos in the callers office he was on one not sure if they are still there. I also worked with swill he would climb out of the sorting office window to go to the bookies. I used to have some of his records, he would say I am performing in LA next week we would say America he would say no lower Adlington:)
Oh yes Swill was hilarious, his antics drove my Dad daft sometimes too.

I have a press photo of my Dad and another Postie modelling the new uniform of the day - one of the few times I saw him wear a regulation cap.

They tossed a coin as to who wore the old and the new one - he won and got the new uniform, lol.

Just think Mamyalynne a chance meeting with a stranger on Blackpool Prom brought back happy memories, I think for both of us. x
Indeed Mick and it has been lovely chatting - my heart broke the day I lost my Dad, he took me everywhere and 56 is no age to die.

Still fond memories and nice to reminisce.
When I say everywhere - I spent many hours hiding in the old Bull nosed Morris van with him in the summer holidays.

Thanks for the chat
☺.... That was nice........Night and sleep well both.....♥
