Look at the reality of this please. There is only one power on Earth that can influence the people of Israel. They don't give a flying f*** about anyone else. There is no quartet in terms of the realpolitik only the US. Our PM has made his views clear to everyone on how , ONCE AGAIN we find ourselves in this unhappy place. But despite whoever she used to be when she tried to discredit our government, the UK, the EU, whoever- the only people Israel listen to is the USA, and actually I don't blame them.
Once again it seems I have to say that the West Bank Palestinians have not been attacked. It is only the Hamas controlled Gaza Strip that is being attacked.
The thing that disgusts me the most about all this is people who talk about the Israeli response as being 'disproportionate'. Fools, that is why rockets are being fired from near schools and UN safe havens because Hamas don't give a faeces sample for the people that elected them.
The conflationists say now that the blockade is the real injustice. Fine except that that is how the rockets (and if you were in a shelter night after night instead of your bed you might ponder on this) get in!
Finally the disproportionists reveal their hypocrisy- if it was your child that died, would you be worried about the relative statistics about the numbers killed on each 'side'? I defy you to say yes!

Colmc, I think we can turn your argument on it's head, If most of your country had been stolen, if what was left was blockaded for decades and if your fellow citizens were regarded as subhuman by your fascist neighbour who carried out a policy of apartheid and killed them with impunity would you not feel just a little resentful. I think you are the fool in falling for the zionist propaganda. Why do you think think that many Jews throughout the world as well many within Israel think that the Israeli government is wrong.
Let me draw a, not irrelevant, analogy between the Palestinian situation and one of the arguments being used by the SNP in current referendum 'debate'.
The SNP use Toryphobia in Scotland as a free-thinker's suicide pill argument for independence. They (the Tories) 'imposed' the 'infamous' Poll Tax on the Scots before the English.
My mother, a widow living in Edinburgh was £1,100 better off. All over the UK as it was expanded many people were better off. However the people who had never before been asked to contribute to the society that they had depended on for their lives didn't like it, and those with more time to make more noise than the many that benefited from it won the argument.
It was not unreasonably and genuinely thought that the arrival of the incoming Jewish settlers would bring wealth and prosperity to the people of Palestine as those that remained would have to attest to if they had the chance, just as the Conservatives at the time genuinely believed that the introduction of the Poll Tax would be a good thing at that time.
The problem historically is that there was always a powerful coalition of Islamic anti-Semitic factions dedicated to ensuring that the Palestinians were going to be needlessly driven out of their country by anti-Zionist hysteria, when if they had stayed the future of our species would have been enriched, and not driven back into the primordial swamps of depravity it is now mired in.
All I'm saying is that there are two sides to every argument, but the idealists and extremists will only tolerate you if you accept only 50% at most of all the reality that surrounds us. There are at least two sides to every story. When you are forced to accept only one, that is time to reject the propaganda and start learning the actual facts and begin to think for yourself!
