There's been a lot of stuff in the papers about Mariella Frostup "borrowing" her friend Penny Smith's husband to go on holiday with her as her own husband couldn't go owing to work commitments at the last minute.

Would you "borrow" your friend's husband/wife if your own couldn't go with you? On the other side, would you be happy for your OH to go away with your friend?

Personally, I'd be a bit miffed that she didn't ask me to go with her. Or another friend, sister, someone, while I was left to do all the boring home and work stuff on my own while OH was away.

Any of my friends are welcome to borrow Mr P, but only if they will wash his socks, cook his tea and share a bathroom with him.
If I'm not going neither is he.
i've "borrowed" a friends husband.... or rather i had to go somewhere and needed his area of expertise so he came with me, as mates do.

she got him back unscathed
Think we should be able to borrow all husbands, period.

Kinda like a library. Book em out for whatever occasion you need 'em for then return within a 3 week time slot. Of course, like a library any damage to them will have to be paid for.
I'm liking your thinking there Boo. One week we take out DIY Husband, next week Gardener Husband, after that I love cleaning and doing laundry Husband. Every now and then pop in and pick up Millionaire, yacht owning, Adonis Husband who knows how to pour a decent drink.

Yep, I'd renew my library membership ;-)

just imagining B00 having a clearout of her shelves and finding three husbands she'd forgotten to return.

The fines would be astronomical.
i'm still daydreaming about mariella asking my missus if i can go on holiday with her ...
