annoying sofa ads

why is it that sofa commercials are always so irritating?

DFS is the worst culprit.It amazes me how they always manage to pick the most outdated, tacky songs. I'd almost prefer some dodgy jingle.

I believe I read somewhere that the 'irritating' factor in ads is not so daft, but a clever marketing ploy to make the consumer remember the product. This backfires somewhat as I tend to flick channels for the worst ones. The chap who sings in the building society ad for instance (can't remember either names!).
