Does the applicant get a copy? I know with the old CRB a copy was sent.

the applicant is now the only one who does receive it.

Yes, I have the DBS report, I had to take the original to the charity/ council that I am involved with for them to copy it.

Thanks to you both, how long do they take to come through? I filled one in on 15th July and am due to start work on 2nd Sept.

I would have thought about now really, I'd chase it up if it doesn't arrive soon

I've just looked on the website and it says about 4 weeks, there is a tracking system but you need the reference number which I haven't got.
