Desperate Housewifes

Why does the critics rave over this show, was told it was up there with the sopranos, hill street and the west wing... seen it a couple of times, thought it ok at first, but it soon descended into ridiculous soap overblown twaddle after a couple of episodes, also i found that awful wheening soccer mom voice over irritating and grating. i know that its audience is mainly women. but as i notice its very popular whats so special about it?

I was in my [not so] local pub one night and this was when it first come out and my mate bob gets his coat and says "I'm off, something called desperate housewifes on telly. Sounds really good and dirty" and off he went. He came in the next week and said it was crap and not what he expected. We all had a giggle. But i've never watched it so i can't help.

I enjoy it and I'm a guy. I like it's sometimes twisted sense of humour.

Can't really say what the attraction is.....but I definately enjoy it!

I love it - it spoofs the american soaps, but is really addictive.

i love it but this series hasn't been as good as the last. gone off the boil slightly but full of great characters, especially Bree Van Der Kamp and Lynette!
