im reading wikipedia on it , if the jews believe jesus was a false messiah then why do christians associate themselves with jews ? in some articles i have read the jews hated the christians. its been 20 odd years since i studied religious education in school and its a very very complex subject . i find the bible difficult to get my head around ( gives me a headache ) lol
in a nutshell, basically what is the association between the two and why do christians stand with israel even now against hamas and the arab world.
i like to think the israeli,s are right to strike back at hamas, hamas have been the aggressors firing rockets into israel and killing innocence, i do not belive in israeli,s targeting un schools , i deplore the killing of any civillians from whatever religion but the jews have a right to live in israel free from aggression. i stand with the jews because of their continuous persecution at the hands of the romans, the arabs, the nazi,s etc.. they have been persecuted and bullied for generations from the beginning of time.

"An Iranian Jewish organization announced over the weekend that it rejected an initiative to compel Iran's Jewish community to immigrate to Israel using cash incentives.
"[The money is]inappropriate and politically immature," the group said in a statement that was carried by Western and Iranian news outlets.
It added Iran's Jewish community has remained loyal to the Islamic Republic and that their "Jewish Iranian identity is not a commodity that passes from the hands of one merchant to another in return for money."
Iran has the largest Jewish community in the Middle East outside of Israel.

Actually it isn't - you've got it the wrong way round. It is entirely about religion. Land is just a conveniently expedient political excuse and most of the world's press are falling for it, hook, line and sinker. The truth of the matter is that it's really about crude religious hatred and bigotry by Islam against the Jews. Hamas has it written into their charter that there can never be a negotiated settlement; for them, the only way to end this war is total and complete annihilation of the state of Israel and the elimination of every Jew on the planet. That is their stated aim and it is laid out in black and white in their charter.
If you read the Koran and the Hadiths, all Islamic texts are replete with Jew hated. It runs right through Islam like a watermark. To make the claim that this is about land and not religion shows a level of ignorance (*) rivalled only by the main-stream media.
I find it incredible that a known terrorist organisation such as Hamas can release a document into the public domain that explicitly calls for the extermination of an entire race of people and not one of the main-stream media outlets reports this fact to the general public.

Keyplus, I think you will find that many christian fundamentalists support the zionists as their beliefs coincide on the issue of Israel. There are as many different interpretations of the bible as there are of the koran, which is why there are so many dead christians and muslims killed by their co-believers. Muslims don't have exclusive rights to religious intolerance, christians are good at it too.

dd, If everyone had the right to claim land where their ancestors lived 2000 years ago chaos would rule. Why 2000 years? why not 500 or 5000. would proof be needed. What would happen to the people that would have to be displaced. It is a ridiculous idea as has been demonstrated so effectively in the middle east.
It is Muslims who have singled themselves out as Muslims, Christians as Christians and Jews as Jews. What unites them all is that they have each singled themselves out as something other than human beings that see only the inhumanity of all the others while selectively choosing to remain blind to their own.
Dd, the Jews have been persecuted but so have a lot of ethnic/ religious groups, the list is very long. Strangely enough despite their persecution the Jews are one of the most successful 'minorities' on the planet. I have several Jewish friends but I have no Palestinian friends or even Ialian friends. Strange isn't it?
