Where To Go In Greece

I want a little getaway, just me, to Greece. I'm imagining sitting outside a taverna, reading my book while the sun goes down. Near a beach or a hotel with pool etc

Any recommendations?

Kokkari... small village on the Island of samos... great traditional tavernas... few bars... most places are good to stay... Venus & Kalidon Hotels are great but Slightly bigger... Lambros.. Tsamadou are very quiet.. but even the ''bigger'' hotels are quiet

So many places...

First decision is between an island with an airport or whether you are up for a ferry ride to somewhere not infested with package holiday hordes

Jordy's suggestion of Crete is interesting because you can fly there but it is big enough to have large unspoiled areas such as his Paleochora or other places in the South West. However, you might want a car for that option unless you are happy to stay in the town the bus drops you.
