I want to get a couple of thousand euros for my holiday travels. The banks give such poor exchange rates. Has anyone used Fairfx? I saw them advertised on the TV tonight. Are they bona fide? Many thanks, in anticipation. Bramleyboy.

They seem to be bona fide Bramleyboy. The main gripe is that they give you your euros in large denomination notes ( 100 euros ),which are very difficult to get bars and shops to accept. These high denomination notes are prone to forgery, hence the reluctance of retailers to accept them.

Fairfx have said they will issue smaller denomination notes, but still do not appear to do so.

I have always had good service from HiFX.

Thank you. I looked up HiFx. I put in an arbitrary £3000 and Fairfx gave3710 and HiFx 3773!
Well I guess "hi" might imply more than "fair". :-)
Fairfx also do a prepaid currency card which has good right ups on many sites. It saves having to carry all your money in cash and can be used just like a debit card in stores, restaurants and to get cash out at an ATM.
Try Ramsdens or the Post Office
