After reading yesterdays papers and all about Whitneys downfall, I just wondered, are Whitneys children still living with her? As to me this is no environment for a child to be in.

I think she has just one child.Didnt she look awful - she was so beautiful and talented. She looks ravaged now - I know photos can be unkind.I would hope her daughter isnt living with her because by all accounts over the past few years neither the mother or father have been ideal role models. He has been in jail - but If my memory serves me that was for assault.Unfortunately 4getmenot we have recently witnessed in this country what happens to children who have junkie parents.Very sad state of affairs all round.
Yeah, her only daughter is called Bobbi. I think one of the stories yesterday mentioned something that happened when her daughter was 13, but gave no indication if that was last week, last year etc, so I'm not sure how old she would be now. Surely she can't be living with her parents??

Now, I don't know what the child protection laws are in the States, but my understanding of the laws here is that someone would have to be reported for neglecting the child, or putting them in danger (or absuing them) before the child services got involved.

Ironic isn't it? The two 'bad kids' from the 80s - Madonna and Prince, have grown up to be relatively responsible adults, but the clean-living Christian girl - Whitnet...

I blame Bobby.

Whitnet???

Whitney!

You would think sp that if the parents are registered users and getting methadone - in this country - they would have to go to the chemist to have their daily dose.

Not so it would appear.A 2 yr old in East Lothian died in December after drinking his registered parents methadone. The news only came out a few weeks ago.

I agree with your analogy in your last para - very ironic. She IMO is under some kind of control by her husband. She appears to fiercly protect him with her life - I cant comment on her daughter because I dont know if anyone has taken over her care - just hope so.

I think Bobbi was born in March 1993, so she is only just 13 bless her little heart. Goodness only knows what sort of stuff she has witness over the years due to her parents neglect ~ I guess as they are both celebs they may get away with it?

Drisgirl/Pippa

Now, bearing in mind that all we have to go on is what we've read...I'm pretty certain that Whitney is having huge personal problems. I won't go any further than that because I don't want to land AB into any bother re: libel laws.

However, I would hope that there are people around her and her husband who have the child's best interests at heart and can protect/shield her from what may be going on until it's resolved.

And yes - Drisgirl...I remember the story you mentioned. It is never in the child's best interests to be exposed to that kind of life. Never, ever, ever.

Re: Madonna/Prince - yeah...thoroughly ironic. 15 years ago the pair of them were singing about sex and swearing all over their records...now they could be members of the Women's Institute...well, almost.

It's tragic, Whitney Houston is one of the most talented entertainers of all time, but this will continue to happen to people until crack and heroin dealers are exterminated.

She will be dead within 2 years at this rate
don1, I don't think exterminating the dealers will make any difference. It's all about economics. If there is demand, there will be a supply. I don' t know a whole lot about economics, but I do know that in general, the demand side much easier to manipulate than the supply side.
Newtron, if dealers are exterminated who will supply the heroin?

Someone who sees the demand with little or no supply (because the dealers have been exterminated) as a great opportunity to make big money. As long as there is a demand theere will always be dealers. Why do you think people produce and sell drugs anyway? Because people are more than willing to pay money for them. On the other hand, if we concentrated on educating people about drugs and as a result, more people decided not to do drugs, there would be less demand and therefore the price of drugs would decrease and there would be less producers and dealers because they would not be able to make a lot of money. That's the theory anyways.
