I have seen a parcel collection point in the shopping centre, but forgotten to stop and look at it. How do they work?

I have a few parcels due and am rarely at home when the postman calls. Its not appropriate to have them sent to work, but it would be great to use a pick up point somewhere in the centre of town. Any idea how it works and how I select it as an option on ebay?

we have* sorry
I don't think you can pick parcels up from these places. They are for sending parcels. The one in our local supermarket is 'My Hermes' .On Ebay you would put 'other courier' in the postage section. Best thing to do is to look at the My Hermes website.
I thought they were for dropping off parcels for companies who participate in the service- eg Music Magpie let you drop off parcels addressed to them free of charge at certain shops such as my local ASDA
andres is right, they are not Royal Mail pickup centres - they are for selected other couriers only. We have one near to us where we can drop parcels off as well as collect them. I don't know how much the facility costs if you want to send parcels that way.
Just seen the answer by queen 1954. Please ignore my reply. This is new to me.
No, you're right, andres - it's only for participating courier services, not Royal Mail or Parcelforce.
Is it one of these?

Thanks- I hadn't realised you could collect parcels from there too
I've noticed a sign in our local Post Office too, that there is a collection point for parcels - I don't know how that works, though (and I wouldn't use it, since our local sorting office is nearer to me than the PO).

That's it Queen thank you, thank you.

I have signed up and arranged for my weekend online shopping to be dropped off at the one I've seen, perfect for collecting in my lunch hour.

It costs £2 for the first 5 parcels - ideal. You're given an address which you put into say, eBay, as your delivery address . Once its delivered, they text or email you a pin to collect it with. I'll give it a try.
youre welcome :) i should use it too,im already fretting about a parcel due on tues as they often leave them on the doorstep when im at work if my neighbours out.
