Renting Domestic Appliances

I have received a leaflet from "Forbes-Rentals.co.uk." They offer a full range of domestic equipment for a fixed weekly rent. The minimum period is one of 18 months and their charges appear to cover breakdowns and replacement costs.
As our washer and drier, although still working, are long past their shelf life and I have though of giving it a go.
But, does anyone have any experience of renting from any body and in particular from Forbes-Rental?

My Mum use to rent a washing machine and it did cover repair and replacement.
Id re-think it if it was me. If finances are tight (apologies if that's not case) I'd rather scour Ebay and second hand shops than pay wayyyyy over the odds for things like this.
They can be quite cheap BOO....
Yeah, but how long do you keep paying for them for? To the extent where you could have bought whatever it is 4 times over?
i don't have any experience of this but you will have to work out if the finances stack up for you. for example, compare the cost of going to a laundrette on a weekly babsis to the weekly rental on a washer/dryer. it CAN be a good idea if you don't have the money to slapsh out on new appliances but if your old one is still working, why not save the rental money weekly and buy a new one when you have enough?
