Surprised no-ones's posted a RIP for Eli Wallach (I can't find one anyway). I'm not going to say it's sad except for his family but he had a great long life, a great career and a wonderfully long marriage. Such a lovable rogue in the spaghetti westerns, to name just a few of his famous roles.

I recognise his face off the earlier pics of him when I scrolled down Prudie, I woudn't have known his name though.
RIP Eli, thought he was great in The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
He was a good old age I hardly recognised him in the link. We enjoyed his films, especially the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood.

I know him most from the Clint Eastwood movies plus Godfather 3. Young uns might know him better from The Holiday. Such an enduring marriage too.

Thank you methyl, I really enjoyed that. Of course he was also the leader of the baddies in the Magnificent Seven.
That's what I always think of methyl - him standing on the grave in the good the bad and the ugly.

I love all those films.
He was also a world-famous wrong answer to a pub question, such as Name the Magnificent Seven. Wallach of course was the baddie and not one of the Seven. Brad Dexter was the one of the Seven most folk couldn't name.
Great. We shall never see the like again. Didn't you love the shifty eyes?

He was a 'one off' - an excellent character actor. Who happened to have a beautiful wife.
