Yes, my brother did and his wife was dressed in a Gaelic wedding dress. Looked great. They were wed, not in a church, but in a blacksmith type room. There was an anvil in front of them and it was like a stable. It were really nice.

They live in Blackpool so it was a long drive and the reception (which was right afterwards) was in Blackpool.

It was a long day, especially without satnav.

Hi paulineuk, i got married at gretna green sept 2004. It was absolutely fantastic! I would reccommend it to anyone. i thought the day might be a bit commercial and a bit like a sheep dip, one in, one out, kinda thing, but that really couldn't have been further from the truth. Each and every person involved in my wedding, from the hotel staff to the registrar to the chauffeur, the piper, the photographer, the hairdresser and the wedding planner were the nicest kindest people you could wish for on your big day. We got married in the blacksmiths cottage which is a lovely little room that holds 16 people. It has a log fire and the Anvil, behind which you say your vows! It was a very personal thing cause all your guests have you facing them as opposed to standing with your backs to them. What a truely wonderful day we had.I go mushy just thinking about how romantic it all was. Yes, it was a fair drive for us and our guests from our home town of leicester, but worth every second!!!!
