I'm in the market for a new cat litter as the combo of Caspar and Amber means constant emptying of their donations. I don't mind if bit pricey,if it works. Also should be available online.

it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

the best stuff tray-wise (for my 5) is non clumping wood pellets, you can sieve out the soiled stuff as it disintegrates - but it's fairly light stuff so tends to get scuffed all over the house...... :-(
I have no real preference - I did stop using the stuff that made loads of dust to see if it helped Frankie's asthma. I never went back to it.

I have the Tesco clumping one just now - there is nothing wrong with the litter itself, but it gets really heavy when wet.

I have mixed in some pellet stuff that I bought as well. So far they will use any cat litter and are not fussy.

I thought of teaching them to use the toilet but Merlin is pretty dim and would fall in. Frankie misses the litter tray when he pees so he would probably be just as bad with the toilet - cat wee on the toilet seat. :-(

@mushroom...I've used the wood pellets for many years...I've had enough of the dust every where.
@wolf...so Frankie is a typical boy....
We only have one cat now but I have used Catsan for many years. If you pick out the solids, the urine is absorbed very well without clumping. It does not need changing for a few days and does not smell.
I buy the wood pellet type - Pettex Pampuss is around £10 for a 30 Litre bag on Amazon. It neutralizes smells but to make doubly sure, I use a Cat It covered litter tray ! Helps to keep the pellets in the tray and the odd ones that do escape . turn to sawdust and are easily washed down the drain (their tray is in the bathroom -where else ?)
I buy the wood pellets as they don't end up all round the house ! Those that do escape the litter tray, turn to sawdust when they get wet and can be easily washed away (my cat litter tray is in the bathroom)
I buy Pettex Pampuss on Amazon, it works out at around £10.44 for a 30 Litre bag
Non clumping and a specific brand otherwise he refuses. I'm luck in the fact that he prefers outside to in. But desperate times he will suffer the indignity of the box.
I forgot to say it's Tesco's own at about £4 a bag.
Thought this was a Maths question!
Pasta - I saw this and thought of you. http://tinyurl.com/ovyphfy

How are the felines getting on? Has Caspar sussed out there is another cat in the house?
Neither these days - we have switched to the crystals which are a little more expensive, but are brilliant. The litter doesn't have to be changed so often, you just pick out the offending items. With 3 cats and 2 trays in the house, this has been a brilliant non-smelly solution for us. This sort of thing, from Jollyes, or similar from Tesco or Morrisons http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/CA4306/bob-martin-premium-cat-litter-crystals?utm_source=google&utm_source=cpc&utm_campaign=ps_productTargets&CAWELAID=720017470000022389&gclid=CMfC_-j0_b4CFXPKtAodoxEAhw

Wolfie...lol...thanks for that. But I suspect dopey Caspar would fall in and get stuck:O
Two moggies are getting on much better...but they still have daily hissy spells.
Has anyone tried one called Worlds Best?? Quite expensive, but rave revues, and supposed to last ages.it would work out to be about 50p more per week than what I spend now...*if* it lasts as long as some claims.
Clumping without a doubt for me. You can just lift the clump of whatever out and drop into the loo. Easy peasy.
I use Worlds Best Cat Litter, eye wateringly expensive at £30 to 33 for 12.7 Kg multi cat formula bag, but it really is the best litter I have come across. It clumps into small bundles of wee and poo, neutralizes smells very efficiently and is very easy to clear out when you need to.
If you get it on subcription from Amazon the price goes down to £28 per bag.
Wow Sue that is expensive.
The one I used was Bob Martin's Stayfresh (Anti Bacterial) Clumping Litter, £6.48 from Asda for a massive 20L bag - lasted me months! And I wouldn't have used it if it was rubbish.

What an amazing price difference. Mine 32.4p/L Sue's £2.59/L. It would have to fetch itself from the shop, put itself in the litter tray, empty itself when used and dispose of itself for me to even consider paying that much. And then I wouldn't:-))
If you're insisting that you want to buy online, then I can't help you.

However, with a proud mummy cat and four 4-month-old kittens, I've been using quite a lot of cat litter recently and I only ever buy the 'clumping' type. Further, as far as the big supermarkets are concerned, I can't find anyone to beat Morrison's Anti-Bacterial Clumping Litter at just £2.69 for 8 litres.
We use Sainsburys Ultra absorbent clumping cat litter...it's all our lot will use...makes life easier too
Ahem Chris. Think my price beats yours:-)
clumping so easy just pick out the wet clump
