Yesterday in the house there was what I presume was an All Black Bumble Bee. I have not seen the humble bumble bee that did not have a yellow stripe. My foxgloves this year have drawn many many bees which almost sound like a peal of bells in the distance. Any one know what type of Bee this might be?

Probably a Male Field Cuckoo bumble. They do produce all black versions

Thanks to both of you, I looked at both suggestions, but the one here was so round and hairy it looked more like a pom=pom, I just assumed it must be a bumble bee of some sort. I could not bring myself to pick it up, so closed the door but opened the window and hope it would find its own way back out!
