I've got an editor (PInnacle) for my my mini DVD camera tapes and have produced excellent DVD discs from them. Is there an editor on the market that can capture material from these DVD discs so that I can re-edit ?

I'm not sure what you mean by a mini DVD camera. I've seen DVD cameras which records startight to DVD, and mini DV cameras which record to tape.

Pinnacle studio 10.5 can edit from an existing DVD (File/Import from DVD). But if your camera is mini DV you should be prepared for the drop in quality you will notice when editing from DVD, rather than from DV. This is because DV is a digital version of the original recording, whereas DVD is an mpeg file, which has been lossily compressed (i.e. information has been permanently removed to make the file smaller)

Thanks Rojash - My mistake - my camera is a miniDV.

I thought (wrongly I suppose) that my homemade DVDs held AV1 files. I check out Pinnacle 10.5 though

Thanks again . . . Tony
