Went into hospital Jan of this year with blood clots on the lungs and damage to the heart. "Pulmonary Hypertension" was mentioned at the time but not acted on. Have been on warfarin since Jan 5th, and as the doctors could see little or no improvement in my breathing, decided I needed an angiogram which I had yesterday, the outcome of that was that the main problem is possibly not the heart but..........Pulmonary Hypertension,... I will now be referred to Papworth for further investigations, which I feel could well have been done ages ago. Does anyone on the site have a past of this problem and maybe could share their thoughts on the condition.? Many Thanks.

Yes it was, you were put on anticoagulants which is the major part of the treatment of PH, but also, you may not have had PH at the time, but have developed it due to your multiple "blood clots"......so don't be too hard on the medical staff.

The high blood pressure in the vessels of the pulmonary arteries "may" have a secondary effect on your heart.......shortness of breath etc.

Google pulmonary hypertension.

Papworth will soon sort you out......

Thank you so much, you are always prompt with your replies, I will google this, only sometimes it can worry the life out of me when I read too much about certain symtoms,so perhaps best to avoid !! I will see my consultant this coming week and hopefully get sorted, as you mention Papworth are very good and only about 30 mins drive away from me. Not too far to go. Thanks again.
nellie....very sensible.....many of these "links" are difficult to understand even by qualified people and more than often can be worrying and totally misleading.
Good luck.
