does anyone know the title of the song in the new bbc advert about 'press red before your usual cefax numbers'.... it has the words 'close the door, this night could last forever' and is sung by a woman.. its the one where the guy presses red before getting his coffie and gets given a big froffy mug of it instead.. i've been told its 'after hours' but i need to know the version played on the advert

You are possibly listening to Bettie Serveert.

This track was released on a Velvet Underground Covers Album in 1998.

Either that, or it's Fiction, which did a VU trib album in 1995

I think the track you're looking for is 'After Hours' by The Velvet Underground (although sung by Mo Tucker, the drummer) and it's on the album 'The Velvet Underground'. Run like the wind and find it now, my proud beauty!
