Exposure to coal dust may be partly relevant to your condition, or may be the sole cause. Exacerbation of a condition is usually an acute attack rather than a causative effect. If you are attempting to claim compensation, medics would also look at other causative factors such as smoking when determining your claim. A good place to seek out further information may be from the British Lung Foundation.
