Just read the thread about stupid things we have done and yours caught my eye. I used to live at the Archway and used the 41 bus a lot. I still go to Wood Green for the shops sometimes but I live in Southgate now. Where did you live when you were younger and are you still in the area?

Hiya crapmemory. I grew up in Wood Green, just behind the High Road on the Noel Park Estate and went to Hornsey School For Girls (hence being on the 41 regularly), left Wood Green back in 95 for the 'burbs' just on Essex/Herts borders. Haven't been back to WG in years as all our friends and family have moved and if I go shopping I tend to aim for Lakeside as I'm sitting on top of the M25.

I've got friends in Southgate, it's a nice place. Have you tried that Kervan restaurant opposite Asda?

I went to Highbury Hill High School and Wood Green was the place to shop then. Must admit now I go to Westfield.

Haven't tried the Kervan. It was really busy when it first opened but I think it's not so busy now.
I remember when Brent Cross first opened. Cars blocked the roads for miles. I left it for a couple of months until it all died down. When I did go I was shocked at the high prices, it has put me off mall shopping for life.
If Kervan is anything like it's sisters in Edmonton it'll be a mad house but the food is delicious and very reasonable. We thought we'd go early on a Tuesday evening and we still had a small queue, by the time we left it had grown quite a lot.

I've never liked Brent Cross.

On your recommendation Rocky, I shall try Kervan sometime.

Jeza, I hate Brent Cross!
