Sorry CM, was just out walking the dog. How about something like: Dear ‘Boss’s Name’, I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from my position of ‘Job Title’ within ‘Company Name Ltd’. It is with sadness that this difficult decision has been made, however I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the professional...

Quite right to resign a job that depresses you. What was the job & why didnt you like it
Hurray! Good for you CM, Hopefully you will be finished by the time you read this, so grab a glass of something nice and enjoy the weekend!
All the very best of luck job-hunting - Make sure you lots of coffee breaks when you are looking as it can get a bit monotonous searching for work. I found the best websites for Jobs to be (hope they help):
Reed.co.uk
Indeed.co.uk
Totaljobs.co.uk
Monsterjobs
CV Library

'Reed' seems to be the one that most corporate employers use to recruit. A lot of jobs are only advertised on the actual company website, so if there is a company you want to work for, go straight to the vacancies section on their own web pages.
If you are struggling, sign up for temp work for a bit to get some pennies in - Temporary jobs often lead to the employers liking you and asking you to stay on permanently.
I wish you all the luck in the world, it is really scary leaving a job that you hate, but congratulations you did it! Life really is far too short to be so stressed out :-)
All the very best wishes, Pea xx
Well done! If the job was as cr@p as you say depression can soon set in and it's a *** to get rid of.
Good luck in your jobsearch.
admire your courage in quitting your job.

When/if you sign on, please keep a detailed search of vacancies that you are looking for.
The DWP are really, really strict about you 'actively' seeking employment.

Wishing you all the best for in your jobsearch.

Thank you all for your help, support and advice. xxxxx
Yes, you can but 8 weeks it's not a lot. Maybe take your time and try to treat this job as something you can learn from. When you feel you learnt something then try to find something else.
Hey up CM, Hows the job-hunting going (good I hope) - any good news yet? x

Hi Pea, nothing yet so I'm keeping busy doing the decorating that I didn't have the time or energy to do when I was working!
Hi CM, good to hear you are keeping busy - That's exactly what I did in-between job hunting/ applying etc - the dreaded decorating!
I hope your stress levels have gone down since leaving, but I know it can be a worrying time too, but keep applying and applying - everything happens for a reason and I sincerely hope a great job pops up when you least expect it. All the very best x
