Jerry cans were an innovation that the British nicked during WWII-if I can mention the war...
I can not know why they seem to do well at things but I have the impression that their culture is one of methodology & organisation. Maybe someone can prove that a myth, I don't know. But it gives good results even if it does tend to lose a certain artistic flair in the process, for want of a better expression. Not keen on being that organised in my life, it doesn't seem the balance for me.
