Hi, I was on 29k per annum salary with my ex-employer. I was paid on 26th of every month. I handed in my notice on 13th Feb and because of 1 month notice, had to work till 13th March (MONDAY) to finish off my notice period. I also have 7 days of accrued holidays which my employer said would be paid for with my last pay.

I have just received my pay and while generally its 1774, its only 1304 this time. With only 9 working days left for 26th Match when I left and having 7 days holiday pay (which leaves only 2 days short of my normal working month), I am unable to understand why I am paid 470 less?

Can anyone please shed some light on this?

It depends on how your wages are paid. I am paid on 25th monthly and this is for the month, so I get paid 3 weeks in arrears and one week in advance.

If your salary is paid in the same way, you left on 13th March, so you will have been paid nearly 2 weeks normal pay, 1 weeks holiday pay and so should be approx 1 weeks wages short.

That does'nt sound right.

If you live in Northern Ireland you need to contact Labour relations if you live elsewhere in UK try the DTI

OR if you whant further advice go to the CAB

Cheekychops is probably correct, normally you are getting paid 26 days in arears and 5 days in advance, however on your last month you are not gettin anything in advance as you are leaving, so you ar getting 13 days + 7 hols this is 20 days pay ro approximately 2 thirds of what you would get for a full month.
